Location D - Southwest

The chart on the right shows Profile P7 (red).

The flat parts of the profile are actually four times wider than they appear, relative to elevation.

Southwest Location D1

At first sight it seems that Figure 1A shows three terraces here, the foreground at 14±2 meters, the next at about 23 meters (with cow), and a third at about 45 meters. Figure 1B shows that this is not correct. The "terrace" at 23 meters is a disused quarry and is marked as such on the topographic map.

There may be a narrow terrace at 45 meters, but I was not able to confirm this.

Southwest (north of Location 1 and outside study area)

These photos were taken from locations outside the study area behind the apartment blocks visible in the Figure 1A. Figure 2A shows a neighborhood at about 35 meters and Figure 2B another neighborhood at about 55 meters. Large-scale earth moving is in progress nearby indicating that these areas are not all natural terraces. Nevertheless there were probably terraces at or near these elevations that have been enlarged by developers.

General comments

Profile 7 shows a terrace at about 45 meters but none at 30 meters or 60 meters.

I was not able to observe a terrace at 45 meters because access is difficult. However, there is some evidence of terraces at 35 and 55 meters just outside the boundary of the study area.
