Chilean Coast - Atacama Desert

The Atacama desert depicted in this scene which renders vegetation in red. The scene can be located using the lower image supplied by NASA. This browse image is a reduced resolution sample of a composite image (bands 1, 2, and 4 at 79 m resolution) created from data acquired by the Multispectral Scanner (MSS) aboard an early Landsat satellite. The image was supplied by the USGS Global Land Information System (GLIS). .
