Colorado River - Salton Sea

The topography of the lower Colorado River and the Salton Sea are depicted in this scene using elevation data acquired by the Shuttle Radar Topography Misssion (SRTM) between February 11 to 22, 2000. The lower images show: a map derived by processing part of the DEM data in IDRISI; and a Shuttle photograph. The SRTM elevations are regularly spaced at one arc-second (approximately 30 meters). SRTM data is available for downloading free of charge from the USGS server. (SRTM tile: N33W116.hgt.zip)
