The source of Bolam Creek is the Bolam Glacier. The creek descends through a series of waterfalls to a basin formed by undercutting of the sides of a ravine. The sides of the ravine/basin varies between 100 to 200 meters (330 to 660 feet). The depth and width of the incision gives some indication of the potential volume of debris that can flow from a single creek. The set of four profiles show transverse cross-sections that illustrate the width and depth of the valley at various elevations. Clearly, the middle section of the creek has substantial potential for bulking of debris material.
