Spectral Response

This figure compares the spectral responses of the Landsat-7 and ASTER sensors. Except for blue, which ASTER lacks, there are many similarities, such as the sensitivity in the visible and near-infrared bands and the shorter mid-infrared band. However, ASTER has five bands in the range 2000 to 2500 nanometers (2.0 to 2.5 µm); Landsat-7 has one band. Not shown is the thermal infrared response of the sensors. ASTER has five bands in the range 8000 to 12000 nm ((8.0 to 12.0 µm), while Landsat-7 has one band.
