Matching of North Atlantic regions. Matching is more difficult here than in the South Atlantic. This tentative, pre-drift reconstruction of a portion of Laurasia depends on matching ancient belts of similar geological activity....Four distinct and superimposed periods of geological activity occur on both sides of the present North Atlantic, providing strong evidence for a previous juncture ( Hurley, 1968, caption abridged).
